Position Size Calculator
A position size calculator answers "how much should I trade?" using the fixed-risk method: decide the most you are willing to lose on this trade (risk amount), then divide by the stop distance to get the coin quantity — keeping each loss under control instead of sizing by feel.
How it’s calculated
Risk amount = account × risk %; stop distance = |entry − stop|; position size = risk amount ÷ stop distance; position value = position size × entry; take-profit = entry ± stop distance × R:R (+ for long, − for short).
The 1% rule
The most common risk level is 1%: a $10,000 account risks at most $100 per trade, so even 10 straight losses only draw down ~10%. For long, stop goes below entry; for short, above. A zero stop distance can’t be calculated.
