1. EU MiCA Regulation Takes Full Effect
Today is the last day of the transition period for the EU's MiCA Regulation (2023/1114). From July 1, any entity providing crypto services to EU clients without a MiCA license is in breach of EU law.
Before MiCA: ~3,500 VASP registrations. Now: only ~220 full licenses. Projected survivors: ~400 — meaning over 80% of small exchanges may exit Europe.
Licensed majors: Coinbase (Ireland), Kraken, Revolut, Bybit, OKX. Binance's status remains uncertain.
2. Bitcoin ETF Record Outflows
June 2026 was the worst month for US spot Bitcoin ETFs — $4.06B in net outflows. BlackRock IBIT accounted for ~$3-3.3B (75%). On June 29, BlackRock deposited 7,432 BTC ($446M) into Coinbase Prime.
