Hong Kong Stock Alternative: US ADRs

Can Binance buy Hong Kong stocks directly?

No — Binance currently does NOT offer direct HKEX (Hong Kong Exchange) stock trading. However, there's an excellent alternative: US ADRs.

What Is an ADR?

An ADR (American Depositary Receipt) is a negotiable certificate issued by a US bank representing shares of a foreign company. One ADR represents a specific number of shares in the company's home market.

For example:

  • Tencent HK stock: 0700.HK → Traded on HKEX
  • Tencent US ADR: TCEHY → Traded on US markets, each ADR ≈ 1 Tencent share
  • Price movements track each other closely (just in USD instead of HKD)
