TL;DR: How to choose in 30 seconds
The first rule of choosing a tokenized stock platform is not comparing specs — it's using the exchange where your USDT already sits. All four products do the same thing: they let you trade the price of US stocks in token form. Moving funds across platforms usually costs more time and money than any fee difference you'd gain.
If you're starting fresh, the short version:
- Strongest regulation and liquidity → Binance bStocks: the first tokenized securities on Abu Dhabi's FSRA Official List,1 with $30 billion in cumulative volume within 90 days of launch2
- Most listings → Bitget rToken: 600+ US stocks and ETFs3
- Leveraged long/short on single stocks → Gate stock perps: 391 stock futures contracts at 1–20x4
- A bit of everything (spot, DeFi routing, perps, bots) → OKX: three parallel product lines5
The three sentences that matter most: ① none of these are stocks — you have no voting rights; ② 24/7 trading is real, but so are the wider off-hours spreads; ③ dividend handling differs completely across the four — Gate's xStocks currently pay no dividends at all. Details below.
Who should skip this entirely: if you want long-term ownership of real equity with full shareholder rights, use a traditional broker. Tokenized stocks don't replace them.
First, decode the names: none of these are stocks
Each platform names the same stock differently — the #1 source of beginner confusion. One Tesla, four tickers:
| Platform | Product name | Tesla ticker | Issuer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Binance | bStocks | TSLAB (ticker+B) | BTech Holdings (Binance-affiliated, ADGM-registered) |
| OKX | Unified Tokenized Stocks | xTSLA (pair: XTSLA/USDT) | xStocks (issued by Backed Assets; OKX is distributor only)5 |
| Bitget | rToken | rTSLA (ticker+r prefix) | Reality protocol (custody by Alpaca Securities)3 |
| Gate | xStocks / gStocks | TSLAX (ticker+X) | Backed Finance (Switzerland, Chainlink proof-of-reserve)6 |
Whatever the name, the legal nature is identical: you hold a certificate that tracks a stock's price — not a share in a Nasdaq account. Three sentences to judge what you actually bought:
- No voting rights — all four terms of service remove shareholder rights
- No cash dividends (Gate xStocks: no dividends at all) — each platform handles them via reinvestment, balance increases, or USDT conversion
- Your counterparty is the platform and issuer — Binance's BTech is a bankruptcy-remote SPV under ADGM, Bitget's underlying shares sit with FINRA-registered Alpaca Securities, Gate's Backed tokens publish Chainlink proof-of-reserves — structures differ, but all reduce to "you trust the issuer to perform"
Why this matters: it changes your risk model. Your biggest risk isn't the stock price falling — it's the redemption chain between token and real asset breaking if the issuer fails. Size positions for platform risk plus price risk.

One line: Binance wins on regulation and entry, Bitget on coverage, Gate on derivatives, OKX on balance. Now what each one sacrifices.

Binance bStocks: the strongest regulation and the easiest entry
Binance bStocks is the most complete regulatory package of the four. Launched June 11, 2026, issued by BTech Holdings — a Binance-affiliated SPV registered in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) — it was the first tokenized security admitted to the FSRA Official List, with an approved prospectus for every listing, all searchable on ADGM's site.1
Key numbers (as of Sep 10, 2026):
- ~83 listings (83 ISINs on the ADGM official list, including a few ETFs), named with a +B suffix: TSLAB, NVDAB, CRCLB7
- Every token backed 1:1 by a real US share in regulated custody — shares are deposited before tokens are minted, verifiable on the Proof of Collateral page
- $30 billion cumulative trading volume in the first 90 days (announced Sep 7, 2026)2; third-party data puts its on-chain market cap around $610M, second only to Ondo8
- True 24/7 trading, sub-second settlement, $5 minimum
Two features nobody else matches:
- Free 1:1 conversion between real shares and bStocks, both directions. Tokenize shares to play DeFi on BSC, then redeem back to real equity whenever you want shareholder rights — the conversion itself carries no fee1
- Binance's parallel direct US stock trading (launched Jun 1, 2026: 7,000+ tickers, zero commission, executed via Alpaca) interconnects with bStocks. One account, two rails — real shares and on-chain tokens — switched on demand
Watch out for: dividends arrive as reinvestment (after 30% US withholding tax), not cash; bStocks support only BNB Smart Chain for deposits/withdrawals; mainland China users cannot enable the feature (see below).

OKX: three product lines, the all-rounder
OKX runs the broadest product stack of the four: tokenized stock spot, an Ondo on-chain router, and stock perpetual futures — yet it's the platform competitor articles cover least. Here's the full picture.
- Unified Tokenized Stocks (spot): opened for trading July 16, 2026 with 24 USDT pairs (xTSLA, xAAPL, xNVDA…), plus 8 new listings on Sep 75. Backed by xStocks (issued by Backed Assets); OKX acts purely as distributor and venue. Balances are held in "shares" and converted back to on-chain tokens at the live multiplier on withdrawal, over Solana and X Layer
- Ondo routing (DEX aggregation): since May 5, 2026, 260+ Ondo tokenized US stocks are reachable through OKX's CeDeFi/TradFi section9 — 0% fees during launch, 0.85% standard rate, USDT/USDC settlement
- Stock perpetuals: live since March 24, 2026 — 23 US stock/ETF contracts, officially up to 10x leverage, 24/7, shared margin in the unified trading account10
OKX differentiators: grid and DCA bots cover all tokenized stock pairs (per the official announcement), the best fit for automation fans; ICE, the parent of the NYSE, has also formed a joint venture with OKX for tokenized assets11 — decent long-term backing.
Watch out for: spot xStocks fees aren't published on a dedicated page — check the trading screen; off-hours spreads widen with price-protection limits; the spot line excludes US users, and per media reporting EU users are also excluded from the spot launch (Europe gets the separately regulated, MiFID-compliant X-Perps line).
Bitget: the most listings — and you can borrow against them
Bitget rToken has the deepest coverage of the four: the official FAQ (August 2026) cites 600+ US stocks and ETFs, with 100+ of them trading 24/73. If you're hunting a mid-cap or a niche sector ETF, check here first.
The structure is unusual too: the June 2, 2026 "Stocks 2.0" upgrade moved issuance to the compliant RWA protocol Reality, with underlying securities held at FINRA-registered Alpaca Securities and daily reserve attestations3. Legacy Ondo tokens were auto-converted into rTokens during the July 4th market holiday.
What really sets it apart is capital efficiency — rTokens aren't just buy-and-hold:
- UTA collateral: 100+ rTokens work as margin collateral with up to 10x leverage
- Crypto loans: initial LTV 78% — pledge rNVDA, borrow USDT, keep your exposure
- Grid, DCA and copy trading all supported
Dividends work differently here: cash dividends are converted to USDT and credited to your account (after 30% withholding) — the only platform of the four that pays dividends in a spendable form.
Watch out for: the 0.05% maker/taker promo ended August 31, so check current rates (BGB payment saves 20%); on-chain withdrawals only opened August 19 and initially support Arbitrum and Morph — smaller DeFi ecosystems than Solana or BSC.
Gate: the most fragmented, and the best for stock perps
Gate entered earliest (July 2, 2025) and runs the most aggressive stock-derivatives playbook — four separate stock channels6:
- Tokenized stocks: xStocks (Backed Finance, Swiss framework, Chainlink proof-of-reserve) + Ondo stocks (total-return trackers) + its own gStocks (58+ listings, $1 minimum, fractional, 7×24)
- Stock perpetual futures: 391 stock contracts as of Sep 2, 2026, typically 1–20x, USDT-settled, long or short4 — its trump card, extending to A-shares, Japanese stocks and pre-market listings like SHEIN
- Real US stock channel: via a partner broker, 10,000+ tickers, market orders during regular hours — actual securities
- CFDs: up to 500x on FX/indices (stock CFDs are far lower)
If you want leveraged long/short exposure to single US stocks, Gate's perps line currently has the deepest symbol list. No tokens needed, no dependence on spot liquidity.
But one warning you won't see in Gate's marketing: Gate's own blog states that holding xStocks "does not include shareholder voting or dividend entitlements"12. Hold TSLAX long-term and Tesla's dividends pass you by — in sharp contrast to Binance (auto-reinvestment) and Bitget (USDT credit). If dividends matter, Gate's xStocks is the wrong pick (the gStocks and Ondo stocks lines do handle dividends — don't confuse them).
Also note: US, Canadian and UK users are excluded; xStocks support Solana transfers.
Five comparisons that actually matter
The table gives the panorama; these five details usually decide it.
Listings: is your stock even there?
The first filter: if your ticker isn't listed, everything else is irrelevant. The current landscape (verified Sep 2026):
- Bitget 600+ > Binance ~83 ≈ OKX spot 32+ (260+ via Ondo routing) > Gate xStocks 8 at launch + gStocks 58+
- Binance's list skews high-quality (liquid large caps plus flagship ETFs, still adding several per week13), but volume of listings is its weakest suit
- Action: search your target ticker in each app before you commit
Trading hours: 24/7 is real — and so are the spreads
All four trade outside US market hours, but "can trade" isn't "good to trade." After the close and on weekends, pricing runs on the last close plus market estimates; market makers pull quotes, depth thins, spreads widen. Binance Research puts 44% of bStocks volume outside regular US hours14 — real off-hours demand, mostly Asian users, but nowhere near US-session liquidity.
Practice: small orders anytime; execute large orders during the US overlap (13:30–20:00 UTC); around earnings, off-hours prices can drift — use limit orders, never chase with market orders.
Fees: the promo rates have all expired
A cold shower: the "everything is 0.05%" line circulating online is outdated. Verified as of Sep 10, 2026:
- Binance: stock↔bStocks conversion permanently free; bStocks spot trades at standard spot fees (the maker-fee waiver has ended); direct stock purchases are commission-free but carry a $0.35 minimum platform fee or 0.1% spread (the $0.17/0.05% August promo has expired)15; BSC withdrawals free through Sep 30, 2026
- OKX: spot xStocks fees not published separately; Ondo routing at a 0.85% standard rate (pricey, but it reaches tickers with no spot pair)
- Bitget: the 0.05% promo ended; check the fee page; BGB payment saves 20%
- Gate: tokenized spot fees not published
Spreads matter more than fee schedules. The hidden cost lives in the bid-ask spread, especially off-hours. Practical test: place a small ($50–100) limit order on two platforms and compare actual fills — more accurate than any marketing page.
Dividends: three treatments across four platforms — and Gate xStocks pays none
Dividends are where the four differ most, and where coverage is thinnest (all net of 30% US withholding tax; per official docs):
| Platform | Dividend form | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| Binance bStocks | Auto-reinvested (Multiplier balance increase), ahead of the traditional pay date | Token balance quietly grows; no cash |
| OKX | Reinvested at issuer level; share balance rises | More shares; deposits/withdrawals pause for minutes |
| Bitget rToken | Cash dividend converted to USDT credit | Spendable USDT lands in your account |
| Gate xStocks | No dividends (official blog wording) | Nothing happens; only gStocks auto-pays |
For long-term income, Bitget's treatment is the most tangible; Binance and OKX enforce compound growth; holding Gate xStocks for income is simply a mistake.
Withdrawals: which chains, and what "self-custody" really means
All four now support withdrawals to self-custody wallets — on completely different chains: Binance on BNB Smart Chain, OKX on Solana/X Layer, Bitget on Arbitrum/Morph, Gate's xStocks on Solana. Two practical notes:
- Verify network and contract address before every withdrawal — wrong-chain transfers can be unrecoverable; OKX also warns that with multiple issuers in future, you may receive a different issuer's token than the one you deposited
- On-chain tokens remain governed by the issuer's smart contract — transfer restrictions, address blacklists and sanctions screening are written into the code. "Self-custody" doesn't mean "fully free"
Which tokenized stock platform should you choose?
The whole analysis compressed into one decision table — find your row:
| Your situation / need | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You already hold USDT on one exchange | Use that one | Cross-platform transfer costs exceed any fee difference |
| New account, want strongest regulation + liquidity | Binance bStocks | ADGM-approved prospectuses, $30B volume, deep spot books |
| You need small caps / niche ETFs | Bitget | 600+ listings, broadest coverage |
| You want to pledge stock tokens and borrow | Bitget | UTA collateral at 10x, 78% initial LTV |
| You want leveraged long/short on single stocks | Gate (or OKX perps) | 391 stock perps, 1–20x, both directions |
| You want grid/DCA automation | OKX or Bitget | Official bot coverage on tokenized pairs |
| You want stock tokens for on-chain DeFi | Binance (BSC) or OKX (Solana) | The most mature DeFi ecosystems |
| Long-term dividend investing | Honestly: none of these | Bitget's USDT credit is the most tangible; or just use a broker |

Three everyday scenarios in plain language:
- "I already have USDT on Binance" — search TSLAB in spot and buy; conversion and withdrawal are built in. Moving exchanges to chase a 0.0x% fee difference isn't worth it
- "I'm new — which one account should I open?" — default to Binance: strongest regulatory backing, one account spanning direct stocks, perps and earn; pick Bitget/Gate/OKX only if a specific row above matches you
- "I just want to bet on price moves" — then you don't want tokenized stocks at all; you want Gate/OKX stock perps. But remember: liquidation costs far more than spreads
One-line summary: pick the platform where your USDT already lives, then decide what you actually need — coverage, leverage, or on-chain freedom. Binance wins on regulation and entry, Bitget on listings, Gate on perps, OKX on balance — but all four sell you the stock's price, not the stock itself.
Tokenized stocks vs traditional brokers
If the goal is long-term ownership of real equity, tokenized stocks don't replace brokers.
| Dimension | Tokenized stocks (this article's four) | Traditional brokers (Futu, Tiger, etc.) |
|---|---|---|
| What you hold | Price-tracking certificate, no voting rights | Real shares with shareholder rights |
| Funding | USDT and stablecoins in minutes | Bank/wire transfers in days |
| Hours | 24/7 (wider off-hours spreads) | US regular session + pre/post market |
| Dividends | Varies by platform, 30% withholding | Cash dividends paid directly |
| Best for | Existing crypto holders trading price | Long-term investing, IPO subscriptions, real ownership |

A note on restricted regions
Binance, OKX, Bitget and Gate do not serve mainland China, and tokenized stock products generally exclude US persons. Whether you can enable these features is decided by each platform's eligibility checks (KYC and geo-screening) at registration.
If your account can't unlock the feature, don't circumvent restrictions with VPNs or borrowed identities: it breaches the terms of service, risks frozen funds, and leaves you without legal recourse. Everything in this article applies only to readers eligible in their own region.
FAQ
Is Binance bStocks a real stock? What if the platform fails?
No — it's a certificate representing a financial instrument. It's issued by a bankruptcy-remote SPV registered in ADGM, backed 1:1 by custodied US shares with verifiable reserves, but your exposure still includes issuer and custodian performance. The only real mitigation is position sizing: don't treat it like shares in a brokerage account.
Can I trade tokenized stocks on weekends? How bad are the spreads?
Yes — all four platforms' main listings trade on weekends, but spreads widen and depth thins after hours. Roughly 44% of bStocks volume happens outside US regular sessions, proving real off-hours demand; still, run large orders during the US session with limit orders.
Where do bStocks dividends go? I never see cash.
After each ex-date, net dividends (after 30% US withholding) are auto-reinvested into the underlying stock and your displayed balance rises via the Multiplier mechanism — usually ahead of the traditional pay date. For cash-form dividends, Bitget rToken is the only one of the four that credits USDT.
Can I withdraw tokenized stocks to my own wallet?
Yes. Binance uses BNB Smart Chain, OKX uses Solana/X Layer, Bitget uses Arbitrum/Morph, and Gate xStocks use Solana. Double-check the network and contract address — wrong-chain transfers may be unrecoverable — and remember on-chain tokens remain subject to issuer contract terms.
Are Gate's xStocks the same as Binance's bStocks?
No. Different issuers (Backed Finance vs Binance-affiliated BTech), different tickers (TSLAX vs TSLAB), different dividends (Gate xStocks currently carry none; Binance auto-reinvests). Same stock, different instruments — always check the code before transferring.
Which platform has the lowest fees?
No stable answer: Binance's permanent free stock↔bStock conversion is the only guaranteed zero, while spot fees keep changing and the widely-quoted 0.05% promos expired at the end of August. The real cost is the spread — test two platforms with small limit orders instead of trusting marketing pages.
